After installing SoftNAS, it is a Buurst Best Practice to check and apply any software update that may be available to ensure you are running the latest version.

Buurst recommends a reboot of your SoftNAS be performed prior to a system upgrade.  This ensures the system is in a stable state prior to applying the update.

Applying Software Update

  • Click the Software Update option under the Settings section in the Left Navigation Pane or by selecting "Step 3 - Apply Software Update" from the Getting Started Checklist.  

  • The Software Update Administration panel will be displayed with the Current Version Installed as well as displaying the Latest Version Available for Installation.  If there is a later version available, Buurst recommends installing it.

  • The Confirm message box will emphasize best practices, such as creating a backup or VM Snapshot of the current SoftNAS installation image and confirming the process of updating will be displayed. 
  • Click the Yes button.

The Update Underway message box informing the progress of the update process will be displayed. 

  • Click the OK button.

    The Completed message box confirming the successful completion of the update process will be displayed. 
  • Click the Yes button.
    The software update will be performed. 
It is better to clear the browser cache and reload the application.
