AWS Getting Started - Selecting Your AMI (edition) from the AWS console

  • If you are a returning AWS customer more familiar with the AWS console, you can instead sign in to the console directly here 

  • Upon login, you will be taken directly to the console, where many options are presented. Recently visited services will show your recently used services, allowing you to find them quickly.
  • Select EC2 if it is one of your recently used services. 

  • If you are a new customer or accessing from a new account, there will be no recently visited services. If this is the case, expand All Services, and select EC2 from under Compute.
  • Next time you log in, EC2 will be a recently visited service. 

  • From the EC2 console, select Launch Instance




  1.  Select AWS MarketPlace.
  2.  Type SoftNAS in the search bar.
  3.  Select the desired AMI from the listed options. 


Upon clicking Select, you will be taken to step 2 of the Launch Instance Wizard, choosing an instance type (size).
