Creating a User to Connect Azure AD

To create this user, simply select Users from the Active Directory panel headings in the classic portal. Click Add User.

Select New user in your organization, and provide a username. Click the arrow to proceed.

Next, you will provide user profile information, such as name and display name. You will also select a Role. Profile settings can be anything, but the Role selected must be Password Admin. Click the forward arrow to continue.

Next you will click Create  on the  Get Temporary Password screen.

Copy the temporary password provided. Click the check mark to finish setup.  You will need to log in with the temporary password in order to select your desired password.

Note these credentials, and use them in the SoftNAS® AD wizard when prompted.
