Configuring Consistent Backup and Restore

Configuring Consistent Backup and Restore

In Amazon Web Services, it is possible to set up Consistent Backup and Restore. To do so, perform the following steps:

  • In order to configure consistent backup and restore within SoftNAS StorageCenter, navigate down to Settings in the left Storage Administrator pane, and select Administrator.
  • The Administrator panel will open. Within the panel, select the Backup/Restore tab.
  • In the Backup/Restore Tab, select Create.

Because you have already used your credentials previously when deploying SoftNAS as well as creating the initial disk devices, your credentials are already captured for use otherwise you may be requested to provide them again.

  • Click Create when done.

A progress bar will be displayed showing the progress of the back-up being created and the amount of time required will depend on the amount of data residing with the deployed SoftNAS.

Once the backup has completed the creation process, an entry will be displayed within the Backup and Restore pane that can be used to restore if needed.

You can also find the resulting snapshot that was generated under Volumes and LUNs as well with the identical timestamp details as shown within the Backup and Restore pane.
