In addition to the standard ports required for a basic SoftNAS® configuration (namely SSH and HTTPS which can be seen here. Lift and Shift™ requires the following ports to be configured:

For AWS instances and Azure virtual machines in particular, it is recommended that your SoftNAS® instances be configured with static IP addresses. If not, each time the nodes are stopped and restarted, there is a strong chance that the IP address will change, which will cause your Lift and Shift configuration to fail. On-premise (VMware) instances are less likely to lose assigned IP addresses, even if dynamically assigned, but it is still a risk. |
