Licensing for White Box Bare Metal SoftNAS
Requirements Requirements:
Current rocky New install of Rocky Linux 8.6 and minimal configured with a fresh 256GB root / partition.After rocky 8.6 installation is complete, upload script
Install Steps:
Upload the file whitebox_installer.sh and softnas_update_5.4.0.sh to /tmp
chmod +x .zip to the /tmp directory.
Open a shell with the Rocky Linux system and execute the following commands as superuser:
unzip /tmp/whitebox_installer.sh.zip
chmod +x /tmp/whitebox_installer.sh(Note: automatic reboot)
chmod +x /tmp/softnas_update_5.4.0whitebox_installer.sh
echo 5.4.0 > /tmp/version
/tmp/softnas_update_5.4.0.sh > /tmp/softnas-update.log 2>&1 &
tail -f /tmp/softnas-update.log

System will automatically reboot after installer completes |
Open a web browser and direct it to IP of the Rock Linux system.
Login to the StorageCenter UI using the user name softnas and default password Pass4W0rd.
Under the StorageCenter UI navigate to Settings > Software Updates.
Select version 5.4.1 from the Select version dropdown box.
Click on Apply Update Now.
