Symptoms

Performance degradation has been observed when the OMS extensions are installed on the SoftNAS Virtual appliance. This can be observed as high IOwait at times due to the Agents consuming a considerable amount of system resources.

 Purpose

This Article is geared towards disabling the Azure OMS extension to ensure proper functionality as it is known to cause issues in customers' environments

Resolution

Please follow the step by step guide below to remove them from your system:

1.  From the Azure Portal please navigate to your SoftNAS VM in question and Click on extensions
   
   
   
   
2. Remove the OMS Extention just like the Illustration below. You can see I am using the "enablevmaccess" Extension as an example
    
   
3. Done
